PURPOSE:To prevent a bit of information from being erased accidentally, by erasing a bit of storage information on a recording medium based on a result detected by the erase command of a detecting means of two stages. CONSTITUTION:The state of an erase standby switch 77 is detected as the first detecting means that detects the input of the first erase command. In a state that the input of the first erase command is detected, the state of an erase switch 78 is detected as the second detecting means that detects the input of the second erase command. And the erase of the bit of information recorded on the recording medium is performed base on the detected result of the second detecting means. Thus, by performing the erase by means of operations in two states, the bit of information recorded on the recording medium can be prevented from being erased accidentally.
