PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a transmission case by improving the relation of relative arrangement in the transmission case of a plurality of different diameter gears to be disposed on a drive shaft and a transmission shaft and a differential gear mechanism to be driven by the power of the transmission gear. CONSTITUTION:A differential gear mechanism 20 for driving the right and left axles 4, 5 is arranged closely to the tip of gear disposed such that the diameter increases gradually from the center side of a transmission case 1 toward one outside near the center of the transmission case 1. A transmission mechanism 22 for transmitting the power from a transmission shaft 3 to the differential gear mechanism 20 is arranged at the opposite side from the drive gears 10, 11 and the transmission gears 15, 16 i.e. at the other side. Since the right and left axles 4, 5 can be arranged closely to the drive shaft 2 or the transmission shaft 3, the transmission can be constructed compactly as a whole.
