PURPOSE:To automatically judge whether or not the positions of the lugs of a cathode- ray tube are proper covering plural kinds of the cathode-ray tube, by providing support pins on four support bases, and detection pins on four detection bases, so as to form a peculiar construciton. CONSTITUTION:Four support bases like the first movable base 23 are installed, while each of which is provided with a support pin 21 projecting upward for supporting the surface of a cathode-ray tube 1 and arranged to be movable in the horizontal direction so that said support pin 21 can move to the positions facing the reference points P of plural kinds of the cathod-ray tube 1, and also detectors are installed, while each of which is provided with a detection pin 22 capable of being engaged with a lag 3 of the cathode-ray tube 1 as being vertically movable and urged upward, and provided with a detector for meansuring the vertical position of said detection pin 22, thereby said detectors being, for example, four detection bases 35 each of which is provided with a linear gauge 43 or the like and arranged to be movable in the horizontal direction so as to move said detection pin 22 to the designed positions of lugs 3 of plural kinds of the cathod-ray tube 1. The abovementioned process can make automatic measurement of the positions of the lugs 3 of cathode-ray tube 1 and further applicable to the measurement of the positions of the lugs 3 of plural kinds of the cathode-ray tube.
