摘要 PURPOSE:To securely adhere a fiber and ferrule and to improve the water resistance and weatherability of an adhered part by making solder for ceramics of a compsn. consisting of specific ratios of Pb, Sn, Zn, and Sb or compsn. consisting of specific ratios of Pb, Sn, Zn, Sb, Al, Ti, and Si. CONSTITUTION:The solder for ceramics to be used at the time of soldering the optical fiber and connector by the solder for ceramics is made of the compsn. consisting, by weight %, of 10-85 Pb, 30-90 Sn, 0.1-10 Zn, and 0.1-10 Sb, or 10-85 Pb, 30-90 Sn, 0.1-10 Zn, 0.1-10 Sb, <=0.5 Al, <=0.3 Ti, and <=0.3 Si. Such solder is produced by mixing the respective components to the prescribed ratios, melting the mixture in a nonoxidative atmosphere and alloying the melt. The ceramic ferrule 5 having a through-hole in the central part is used as the connector. Ultrasonic oscillation is usually utilized and the optical fiber 8 is soldered into the through-hole of the ferrule 5 by the solder at the time of soldering.
