PURPOSE:To achieve high speed operation and low noise by providing a heating/ cooling means and a hydrogen storage alloy at the end of a cylinder while providing a bellows connected with the hydrogen occlusion alloy and coupled with an output shaft in the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A heat radiating member 7, a heat sink 1, a micro heating element assembly and a hydrogen storage alloy 3 are provided in a housing 5 constituting an end of a cylinder, then a bellows 11 having the interior connected through a filter 5f to the hydrogen storage alloy 3 and an end section coupled to an output shaft 9 is fixed to said housing 5. When the micro heating element assembly 2 is on-off controlled, the hydrogen storage alloy 3 repeats discharge and storage of hydrogen so as to drive the bellows 11, thereby the cylinder can be operated with high speed and low noise.
