SLIDE TYPE EXHAUST GAS BRAKE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To secure an excellent braking performance for a long time, by providing an exhaust gas pressure regulating port with an auxiliary valve member interposed therein on the bottom of a coming and going passage accommodating a valve member slidably in upward and downward directions in a housing assembly to permit the port to communicate with the downstream side of the exhaust gas flow passage in a main body. CONSTITUTION:A coming and going passage 3 communicating with an exhaust gas flow passage 2 coupled with an exhaust gas pipe is provided in the direction substantially normal to the flow passage 2 for forming the housing assembly 1 of an exhaust gas brake device. The coming and going passage 3 accommodates a valve member 4 slidably. The valve member 4 is loosely locked in the vicinity of the tip of the piston rod 6 of an actuator unit 9 disposed at the end of the going and coming passage 3. An exhaust gas pressure regulating port passage 5 communicating with the flow passage 2 located apart from the closing position of the valve member 4 rearwardly is formed on the bottom wall of the coming and going passage 3. An auxiliary valve member 8 is disposed around the port at the bottom wall side of the port passage 5. The auxiliary valve member 8 is closed by the piston rod 6 when the exhaust gas flow passage 2 is closed.
