PURPOSE:To improve productivity by continuously polishing the surface of a belt-like film on which a magnetic material is coated and dried, then inspecting the film in the belt state for surface defects and blanking the film to a prescribed shape immediately thereafter. CONSTITUTION:The belt-like film 1 on which the magnetic material film is formed is polished 4 by rolls 2, 3 and inspected 5 for surface defects during traveling A. The film is then blanked 6 to the prescribed shape by means of a punch 7 and a die 8 in succession thereto. A length measuring roll 9 operates in this stage to stop the blanking device 6 selectively so that the defective part is fed to the down stream without being blanked. A blanked magnetic recording medium (floppy disk) 10 is fed to a stacking part 11. The production efficiency of the floppy disk is improved by such constitution. |
