PURPOSE:To easily fit and join an optical fiber to a ferrule at low cost without exerting an inverse influence on the optical fiber, by immersing a binder contained in a packing material into a deflocculant having the quality for peptization, and exposing the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A packing material generates no microbending even when force has been applied to an optical fiber from an external force such as bending, kink, torsion, etc., and also, gives an excellent effect to heat resistance, pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. Therefore, it is necessary that a fine powder of ceramics, or a fine powder of a metal, etc., are kneaded enough by a binder of resin, and kneaded to a shape of cloth or paper. Subsequently, it is necessary that these packing materials do not flaw the optical fiber, and also, can be easily removed, and in order to offer a deflocculant having such a performance as the packing material is easily peptized, fats of fished, especially, a sardine are effective. By heating the packing material, and immersing the exposed surface of the packing material into the deflocculant, the packing material of specific length and outside diameter can be peptized in case of within a prescribed time.
