<p>PURPOSE:To attain not only to miniaturize a sensor but also to enhance the sensitivity thereof, by a method wherein a polarizing prism is arranged with respect to an E/O converter and a magnetic field sensor is arranged to one light path while a voltage sensor is arranged to the other light path to allow the light signals due to both sensors to correspond to the E/O converter. CONSTITUTION:The light emitted from LED3 is condensed by a condensing lens 2 to be converted to parallel light which is, in turn, split into S- and P-polarized lights by a polarizing prism 7 and one of them passes through a voltage sensor part consisting of a #/4 plate 4, a Pockels effect element 9 and the polarizing prism 7 and is again condensed by the lens 2 to be converted to an electric signal PD4. Voltage is applied to the element 9 from a voltage terminal 12. The other polarized light passes through a magnetic sensor part consisting of a Faraday effect element 8 and the polarizing prism 7 to be converted to an electric signal by an O/E converter 5. The element 8 has sensitivity to the magnetic field in a light path direction. By this method, magnetic field/voltage sensor can be miniaturized and the sensitivity thereof can be enhanced.</p> |
