PURPOSE:To simplify a mechanism and enable good welding, by setting up such constitution in which a color selection electrode assembly placed on a pressure-deformed frame is pulled in four directions with respect to a reference point, and the welding of the assembly is started from the center of the end portion thereof. CONSTITUTION:A pressuring means 23 for pressure-deforming a frame 5, a pulling means 25 by which a color selection electrode assembly 8 place on the pressure-deformed frame is pulled in four directions with respect to a reference point more downward than the tangent on the end of the frame, and a welding means 63 for welding the assembly starting from the center of the end portion thereof are provided. Since the color selection electrode assembly 8 is pulled in the four directions by internal forces, no overstraining external force is applied to the assembly itself as in a conventional art. Namely, the tension on the assembly all depends on the pressure deformation of the frame 5. As a result, a mechanism is simplified as a whole to facilitate adjustment very much to enhance the efficiency of maintenance and shorted the period of design and production.
