摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduced image with excellent resolution and gradation by providing a binary-coding means for comparing the 1st and 2nd pattern pulses whose phase is deviated mutually and for converting the pulse into dot information at each output line. CONSTITUTION:A multi-value image data MI from an image processing circuit is stored in a buffer memory 200. The multi-value image data MO stored in the buffer memory 200 is binary-coded by a binary-coding circuit 203 by pulse width modulation via a selector 202 as it is with respect on the main scan, and on the other hand, the image data MO read from the buffer memory 200 to the subscanning is subjected to calculation of density for the interpolation image data by a density arithmetic circuit 201 at this time and the result is binary-coded by a pulse width modulation binary-coding circuit 203 via the selector 202. In deviating the binary-coded clock by a half dot width between both the scannings while taking a relative phase relation of the binary-coded clocks, since the deviated binary-coded clocks bridge over two picture elements, the similar effect on calculation of the mean density is attained.
