PURPOSE:To attain the recording with constant line velocity at addition or rewrite by deciding the motor drive speed according to the time information recorded just before recording or additional recording is started. CONSTITUTION:The titled method is a method deciding motor drive speed of a recording disk possible for additional recording or rewrite while the constant line velocity is adopted for the main information such as audio information and video information and the time information being additional information obtained from a groove in spiral at a prescribed pitch from the inner toward the outer circumference and the motor drive speed is decided according to the time information recorded just before at recording or additional recording start. Then the motor drive speed is revised according to the elapsed time and the motor drive speed for the initial value and during recording is decided in accordance with an equation of omega<2>=piv/p(t+t0), where omega is the motor drive angular velocity, P is groove pitch, V is line velocity, t is the elapsed time and t0 is the initial time for recording or additional recording start.
