PURPOSE:To carry out proper speed change control by carrying out down shift when the target driving force becomes above the maximum brake horsepower which can be generated on the high speed side speed change stage while carrying out up shift when the difference between the brake horsepower generated on the low speed side stage and said target driving force becomes above a defined value. CONSTITUTION:A controller 7 has a final throttle opening operating means 27 which operates a throttle opening controlled variable based on signals from a vehicle speed detecting means 18, a travel resistance estimating means 24, a target driving force operating means 25, and a speed change judging means 26. In this speed change control, down shift is carries out when the target driving force becomes above the maximum brake horsepower on the high speed side speed change stage. And, shift up is carried out when the difference between the brake horsepower and the target driving force on the low speed side speed change stage becomes above the set value. Thereby, the control of throttle can be carried out by estimating change in vehicle speed, reducing the effect of change in traveling conditions. |
