PURPOSE:To preform precise control over the quantity of the gap between an upper and a lower glass substrate which constitute a liquid crystal display device by pressing the upper and lower glass substrates themselves with gas such as air by utilizing the pressure difference between the inside of the gap and the outside. CONSTITUTION:A seal material 3 is applied or printed outside a seal material pattern 5 while surrounding the pattern 5 and the upper and lower glass substrates 1 and 2 are stuck on each other. Then, the partially open part of an outside seal 3 is sealed with epoxy or UV-curing resin and automatic creping is performed as the 1st method. Further, evacuation is performed through the partially open part of the outside seal 3 to produce negative pressure in the gap between the upper and lower glass substrates 1 and 2 surrounded with the outside seal 3 as the 2nd method. Further, the outside seal 3 is formed in a closed loop shape, the upper and lower substrates 1 and 2 are stuck on each other, and automatic creping is performed as the 3rd method. |
