PURPOSE:To form an organic non-linear optical material long in a single crystal state, by drawing out gradually a fiber which has been filled with a crystalline organic non-linear optical material, as a core, from the inside of a furnace of higher temperature than a melting point of the optical material, to the outside of the furnace, and crystallizing the optical material being in a molten state, from a drawing-out part to the outside of the furnace. CONSTITUTION:When a glass fiber 15 is put into a brass hot bath 12, an MNA 16 being a crystalline organic non-linear optical material in the glass fiber 15 becomes a molten state, and from this state, a motor is rotated at a low speed, and a thread 17 is wound to a revolving shaft 18a. As a result, the glass fiber 15 is drawn out gradually to the outside of the brass hot bath 12, but in this case, this drawing-out speed is set to about 1.5-2.0cm/hr. In this way, when the glass fiber 15 is drawn out gradually to the outside of the brass hot bath 12, an MNA single crystal grows little by little on the boundary surface of a liquid phase and a solid phase of the MNA 16, and in the glass fiber 15 which has been drawn out of the brass hot bath 12, a core consisting of the MNA 16 which is in a single crystal state and whose crystal azimuth is also uniform as prescribed is formed. |
