PURPOSE:To eliminate chipping or crack and to attain excellent shock resistance, CI characteristic and aging characteristic or the like by brushing an end face in the long side direction after the end face is grounded. CONSTITUTION:After both sides of plural piezoelectric plates 1a, 1b,-1n cut into thin plates are clipped by glass plates 2, 2', they are stuck by adhesives 3a, 3b,-3n to form a block 4 and the end face is grounded Then the block 4 is stuck to a brushing plate 5 in a way that the end face in the long side direction is directed upward, the brushing plate 5 is set to a brushing M/C surface plate 6, a grounding liquid 7 is applied to the end face in the long side direction and a disk is brushed by using a rotary brush 8 having plural furs. Then a face in other long side direction being an stuck face with the brushing disk 5 is brushed to obtain a piezoelectric oscillation chip 9 where the ridge 10 in the long side direction is obtained. Since no stress is concentrated at the processing, chipping or cracking is eliminated and the piezoelectric oscillating chip with high reliability and excellent shock resistance, CI characteristic, aging characteristic is obtained.
