PURPOSE:To simplify a system configuration and to surely transmit a piece of data by serially connecting plural control units for inputting, outputting and relaying transmission data through a transmission line, adding data on a control unit and its address to the end of the received transmission data in said control unit on the transmission side and transmitting them to a next stage. CONSTITUTION:The outgoing right of the transmission data is sequentially moved in the transmission direction for the unit of control units U1-Un. At that time the self-data and the unit address are added to the transmission data relayed for said unit to output. When transmission data D1A1+-+DnAn is inputted to the control unit Un at the 1st stage on the reception side, a comparator 9 discriminates unit addresses A1-An included in the received transmission data D1A1. Accordingly only data Dn that the control unit Un requires is extracted. Thus the reception right of the transmission data is sequentially moved in the transmission direction for the unit of control units U'1-U'n, and data Dn-D1 that the control units U'1-U'n need is extracted.
