FORMULA FEED FOR PIGLET

PURPOSE:To promote body weight gain of piglets and improve feed efficiency, by blending a Bacillus subtilis C-3102 live bacterial formulation with a formula feed. CONSTITUTION:Bacillus subtilis C-3102 (FERM-P No.8584) is cultivated in a normally used liquid or solid culture medium, preferably under aerobic condition. The cultivation is preferably carried out at about 6-8 initial pH of the culture medium and about 35-40 deg.C cultivation temperature for about 12hr-7 days. The resultant culture may be directly used or microbial cells may be washed and used. The resultant culture or washed microbial cells may be used directly or after adding an additive drying the resultant blend and formulating the dried blend. The Bacillus subtilis C-3102 added in an amount to give 10<4>-10<8> bacteria based on 1kg formula feed is effective and the aimed formula feed suitable for feeding to piglets is obtained.
