PURPOSE:To guarantee that a picture is outputted in a normal position by outputting a received picture data to a medium to recognize the position where the picture is to be outputted, then collating it with the pattern showing a transmitted picture position information in parallel to check the picture. CONSTITUTION:The picture data is received by a picture output device 2, and the picture is outputted to a medium such as a printing paper or a photosensitive film, and by means of a scanner, the position of the picture is recognized. After said recognition of the position, a picture position information checking part 6 collates said position and the position information such as a bar code transmitted in parallel from a check-pattern conversion part 4 and the position information of the picture is thus checked. As a result, the occurrence of transmission errors that may be overlooked even by the parity check decrease drastically, and the degree of guarantee for the reliability of the picture position required in edition is upgraded.
