<p>A high barrier heatset intimate fusion blend article is disclosed where the article includes a blend of a high barrier copolyester, formed from terephthalic acid, ethylene glycol and 1,3 bis(2-hydroxyethoxy) benzene, and poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET). The PET/copolyester blend articles are formed using a blowmolding and heatsetting process to rapidly achieve a high percentage of crystallinity of the PET in the article. The articles have excellent gas barrier and mechanical strength properties, high thermal stability and remain optically clear after heatsetting.</p> |
