The device for emptying a liquid-containing tank, particularly for a water-flushing device of a W.C. bowl, comprises, on the one hand, an emptying pipe 9 passing through the wall 2, 3 of the tank in a sealed manner and having an upper bend 10 directed downwards and located at a level N3 below the minimum tank-filling level N4, a lower bend 11 directed upwards, a first inlet section 12, the free lower end 13 of which is located in the tank 1, preferably at the bottom part of the latter, and which rises so as to end at the upper bend 10, a second central section 14 connecting the two bends 10, 11, and a third outlet section 15 having an outlet end 16 located at a level below the level N0 of the free lower end 13 of the first section, and, on the other hand, a vent pipe 21 suitable for making the inside of the second central section 14 communicate with the outside, this vent pipe having a closing device 22 which is normally closed, and a part located at a level above the maximum tank-filling level N4. <IMAGE>
