PURPOSE:To simplify a device constitution, by selecting a dot interpolation process on an interpolation table corresponding to the on/off pattern information, and transmitting a control signal to a dot interpolating means. CONSTITUTION:A local pattern detecting means 12 detects the on/off pattern information of an optional dot, and adjacent eight dots centering the dot on a character pattern storing means 11, and supplies them to an interpolation process selecting means 13. An interposition process deciding means 21 in the circuit 13 acquires an interpolation processing method corresponding to the on/off pattern information, by retrieving items corresponding to the on/off pattern information on an interpolation process table 22. And the means 21 supplies the control signal to instruct that the interpolation processing method should be performed, to an interpolating means 14. The means 14 executes the expansion and the interpolation process of a canter dot responding to the control signal, and outputs an expanded character pattern. |
