PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality aluminum hydroxide, by extracting an alumina content with a sodium aluminate solution from bauxite, quenching a mixed solution of an extracted solution and dissolution residue, separating the dissolution residue, further desilicating the extracted solution and precipitating aluminum hydroxide. CONSTITUTION:An alumina content is extracted with a sodium aluminate solution from bauxite by a tubular reactor. Immediately after the extraction, a mixed solution of an extracted solution and dissolution residue is flushed, cooled and the dissolution residue containing reactive silica, etc., is separated and removed by filtration under pressure, etc. Then, part of desilication product as a seed is added to the extracted solution, dissolved silicon content is desilicated and the desilication product is separated and removed. Then, aluminum hydroxide is precipitated from the desilicated sodium aluminate solution and collected. The desilication product can be used as a filler for plastics, etc., and soda and alumina can be recovered from the desilication product. |
