发明名称 OPTICAL MEMORY DEVICE USING LIQUID CRYSTAL
摘要 PURPOSE:To make the critical electric field (Ec) more distinct by packing and providing a liquid crystal added with a dye between a floating charge capturing center layer and the other floating charge capturing center layer or electrode. CONSTITUTION:The floating charge capturing center layer (FTL) is interposed between the electrodes of a liquid crystal device formed by disposing surfaces having a pair of electrodes to the inside so as to face each other. The charge capturing center layer (TL) in particular is provided via the 1st dielectric film on one or both electrodes and is formed in the construction in which the TL thereof is electrically floated from the respective electrodes. A liquid crystal of a guest-host type is used and at the same time a liquid crystal dissolved in a ferroelectric liquid crystal of azo, anthraquinone, etc. is used. A reflection type is used for detecting recording information by light as well. The 1st thin dielectric film 5-1, TL5-2 and the 2nd dielectric film 5-3 are provided to one of the other electrodes on the incident light side to constitute the FTL5. The liquid crystal memory device which is more distinct in the positive and negative Ec is thus obtd.
