PURPOSE:To form roof sheets possessed of plural stepped bendings at low cost by bending a metal sheet with one pair of rolls, by moving one pair of opposite upper and lower rolls in three dimentional directions. CONSTITUTION:Universal joints 8a, 8b, 9a, 9b are operated by a control device, then the rolls 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b fitted on each universal joint are moved in the three dimentional directions to coincide with an intended bending line a. When the metal sheet 7 is moved in this state, the metal sheet 7 is put between the rolls 1a, 2a, and 1b, 2b to bend in both sides. Then, the metal sheet 7 is taken off from the roll forming device and each roll 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b is displaced in three dimentional directions to be conformed with a next intended bending line (b). After that, the metal sheet 7 is fed to perform a bending along with the intended bending line (b). In this way, plural stepped bending is performed with a pair of rolls to reduce manufacturing cost of a forming device.
