<p>PURPOSE:To keep the inter-pitch constant even if extraction intervals of rolled stock from a furnace are uneven and to improve the productivity by measuring an inter-pitch between the preceding rolled stock and the succeeding one to obtain a deviation from the target inter-pitch and changing a rolling speed based on the deviation. CONSTITUTION:Respective speeds of driving motors 6 and 7 of rolling stands 4 and 5 are controlled by commands from a process computer through speed regulators 8 and 9. A detector 10 detecting rolled stock delivered from a furnace is installed between the rolling stands 4 and 5 and detected signals from the detector 10 are sent to an inter-pitch controller 12, which measured an elapsed time from a passage of the bottom of the preceding rolled stock to an arrive of the top of the succeeding one and obtains a deviation from the target time based on given detected signals. The controller 12 gives the speed regulator 8 a speed change command based on the deviation to increase or decrease a rolling speed of the stand 4.</p> |
