PURPOSE:To make documentation work efficient, by performing an editing process so as to unify a word and a phrase when plural document files are consolidated in one, and a document is generated. CONSTITUTION:Plural documents inputted from a floppy disk device 1 are consolidated by a command inputted from a keyboard 2, and it is registered at an input buffer memory area M1 in a memory 4. At such a time, the word in the document is detected, and a registration dictionary in which characters are converted to small characters, is stored at a registration dictionary memory area M2. Afterwards, the editing of the document is performed at a CPU3 by a document display command, or a document print command inputted from the keyboard 2, and a display on a CRT6, or a print output by a printer 7, is performed. Also, by storing that various words that indicate a graphic or a chart are the same words, in the dictionary in advance, it is possible to unify such words over the whole of the document.
