PURPOSE:To enable the enhancement in unwind- and extend-ability when a strand is sent out in the axial direction, by making the winding breadth of strand winding part for one round smaller than the breadth of a cake, and making so that the more the strand is wound later, the more it is shifted to one side in the axial direction of winding so as to be lapped. CONSTITUTION:When a strand is wound around a collet 6 in a specific position of rotating path of a rotating frame 4 while it is traversed, the winding is carried out while the collet 6 is continuously being traversed to one side. Next, when the rotating frame 4 is turned in the arrow direction after a prescribed amount of strands has been wound on over the whole winding range of the collet 6, a new collet 6 while rotating comes into between the collet 6 winding the strand and a spinneret so as to be in contact with a running strand to bend pressedly the running route, and the strand is torn and begins to be wound on the new collet 6, and on the other hand the collet 6 on which the winding of strand has finished is stopped, and it is taken out as a cake A. Accordingly, the winding breadth la is smaller than the breadth L of the cake, and the succeeding winding part (a) is shifted to one side in the axial direction so as to be lapped, thus the resistance in unwinding can be significantly reduced.
