PURPOSE:To feed even any paper accurately up to a print starting position in a simple structure without adding the hard value, by using a mechanical paper tip position setting device and a photosensor either. CONSTITUTION:When a mode selector switch 4-1 is set to the preprinting paper side, a paper feeding signal for feeding preprinting paper as much as the specified pulse portion is outputted by a paper feeding device 3 from a tip position of the preprinting paper mechanically set by a paper tip position setting device 1, whereby the paper is fed up to the specified print starting position. And, when a mode selector switch 4-1 is set to the ordinary printing paper side, a feeding signal for feeding ordinary printing paper as much as the specified pulse portion is outputted by the paper feeding device 3 from the tip position optically detected by a photosensor 2, so that the paper is fed up to the specified print starting position.
