PURPOSE:The titled adhesive for coating compounds of can, having improved adhesivity, heat resistance, water resistance and proper flexibility, by using a specific glycol as a copolymer component and a polyester having a glass transition temperature of >= specific value. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer polyester which comprises an acid component having at least 60mol% aromatic dicarboxylic acid wherein 20-95wt% of the carboxylic acid is terephthalic acid and a glycol component having 5-50wt% diol consisting of a spiro ring shown by the formula (m is 0-4; R is ethylene, propylene or butylene) and has at lowest 55 deg.C glass transition temperature is dissolved in an organic solvent to give the aimed adhesive. beta,beta,beta',beta'- Tetramethyl-2,4,8,10-tetraoxaspiro-(5,5)-unde-cane-3,9-diethanol, etc., are preferably used as the diol.
