摘要 PURPOSE:To measure the grain size distribution of superfines in a short time by arranging reflecting mirrors on a rotary disk opposite each other across a measurement cell and scanning an optical path for the detection of the absorbance of the cell in a sedimentation direction. CONSTITUTION:When the measurement cell 3 which contains a sample obtained by dispersing particulates to be measured in a solvent is set on the rotary disk 1 and a device is put in operation, particulates suspended in the solvent begin to settle down with centrifugal force in the direction of the centrifugal force. When a reflecting mirror 4 is positioned on the optical path of spot light emitted by a sport light converting member 7, the reflecting mirror 4 reflects the spot light to the measurement cell 3 to scan and irradiates the measurement cell 3, and light corresponding to the concentration of the particulates is detected by a light receiving element 8 through a reflecting mirror 5. Then data on the sedimentation speeds of all the particulates are obtained on the basis of variation and time difference of data at each scanning position between two measurements.
