The subject of the invention relates to a self-propelled careenage tower device. It consists firstly of the combination of rolling members formed by orientable sets of wheels 6, 7 moved by hydraulic motors, next of a tower consisting of standard elements mounted and assembled by superimposition forming an internal staircase 12 articulated about a central tube 10 constituting the axial structure, and finally of a working walkway receiving several operators and special equipment, suited for repairing ships' hulls, over all the surfaces with controlled, omnidirectional displacements. It is intended to serve as a support for and as access to all intervention work at a considerable height on the hulls of ships both in dry docks and along the quayside. <IMAGE>
