PURPOSE:To obtain the titled coal slurry with extremely high conversion to thermal energy, little generating unburned residues, by specifying the particle size distribution of coal particles. CONSTITUTION:The objective coal slurry such that based on the whole coal particles, coal particles with sizes <=500mum and <=200 mesh account for >=99wt% and >=90wt%, respectively, and furthermore, particles with a size <=150mum account for pref. >=95wt%. This slurry can be obtained by a combination of such procedures as coarse grinding using e.g. rod mill, fine grinding using e.g. tower type ball mill, mixing treatment, and classification.
