This element is made up of a prefabricated block which represents several paving stones, so as to reduce the costs of manufacturing and laying the pavement. The block has, starting from the upper base, over a height less than half the total height, a reduction in cross-section 1 and transverse grooves 2 of width more or less equal to twice this reduction in cross-section 1 and of identical depth. These grooves delimit parts which are slightly separated from each other and have small rounded irregularities on their free upper surface and their lateral surface. <IMAGE>
