PURPOSE:To develop the centering device for an extruding punch giving no damages to a stripper plate without receiving the limitation in the stroke length of the slide of a press by separating the guide bush and stripper bush of the punch in the die for extrusion forging. CONSTITUTION:The punch 11 having a bearing land is peripherally provided on the tip part of the upper die 10 which is fixed to the slide side of a press and fitted freely slidably by press-fitting to a ring 13 a two piece guide bush 12 into the shank part, in the press die for extrusion forging. The guide bush 12 is energized downwards by a spring 14, energized downwards by the pin 15 provided on the upper die 10 freely liftably, pushed down by a piston 17 and the outer periphery is slided to the center hole 28A of the upper face of the die 21. The stripper bush 27 having the through hole 27B of the punch 11 is set up by sliding outer peripheral part of the guide bush 12 to the recessed hole 27A of the upper face thereof. The breakdown of the stripper plate is prevented without the limitation in the stroke length of the slide.
