PURPOSE:A composition, obtained by blending specific amounts of diallyl chlorendate which is a crosslinking accelerator and three kinds of components of antioxidants with medium-density polyethylene, having improved flame retardancy, heat distortion resistance, heat-resistant aging property as well as cut-through resistance and suitable to insulated electric wires for wirings in apparatuses. CONSTITUTION:A composition obtained by blending 100pts.wt. medium-density polyethylene with 0.5-5pts.wt. diallyl chlorendate expressed by formula I (n is preferably 1 or 2) as a crosslinking accelerator, 1-20pts.wt. 2-mercapto (methyl)benzimidazole expressed by formula II or III or zinc salt thereof, 0.2-5.5 pts.wt. N,N'-di[diethyl-bis-3(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenol)propionate]oxa mide and 1.5-10pts.wt. zinc or lead oxide as a heat antioxidant. EFFECT:Crosslinking can be carried out at an economical electron dose and insulated electric wires can be provided at a low cost. |
