PURPOSE:To separate hippuric acid and methylhipuric acid in urine in a short time without requiring complicated pretreatment, by supporting hippuric acid and methylhippuric acid on a tetramethylolmethane triacrylate crosslinked resin directly. CONSTITUTION:In separating hippuric acid and/or methylhippuric acid in urine, the urine is brought into contact with a tetramethylolmethane triacrylate crosslinked resin (e.g. Shim-pack SPC-RP1) in the presence of a buffer solution at pH 2-4 to support hippuric acid and/or methylhippuric acid on the resin. then, hippuric acid and/or methylhippuric acid is eluted in a mobile phase, fed to a high performance liquid chromatography separation column and separat ed to give the aimed substance.
