Hook formed by a shank and a hook part characterised in that the shank is surrounded by a collar or by a sleeve made in an water-repellent synthetic material which is lighter than water. The shank may be ballasted by a lead. The water-repellent material may be a closed-cell flexible plastic. The sleeve thus formed may be ringed, and/or studded with hairs made of a water-repellant material, the said hairs possibly being arranged either in the form of a tail near the hook, or in the form of a collar at the opposite part, or both.
