PURPOSE:To manufacture a spiral bevel gear having no defect on the tooth profile part by performing a chamfering of the specified dimension on the acute angular part at the outer end side of the recessed part of the outer diameter side end face of a tooth profile simultaneously with forming the tooth profile by hot forging. CONSTITUTION:The chamfering of 0.5-2mm is given to the acute angular part at the recessed part outer end side of the outer diameter side end face of a tooth profile simultaneously with forming of a tooth profile at hot forging time, in case of forming a tooth profile virtually by a hot forging. This chamfering may be either of angular shape (C) or round shape (R). The production speed, yield, etc. are thus improved to obtain the spiral bevel gear preventing the abnormal wear and abnormal noise of the year at using time.
