The subject of the invention is a device worn by the bather on his or her wrist and which releases a balloon inflated with air as soon as the bather presses a button. The balloon floats on the surface of the water and thus remains visible in order to alert other bathers. Referring to the figure, 1 is the compressed air tank, 2 is the plastic balloon, 3 is the housing, 4 is the element by means of which the cover can be opened and the air in the tank 1 simultaneously released into the balloon 2, 5 is the cover, and 6 and 7 are the sprung hinge and the sprung closure, respectively. <IMAGE>
