PURPOSE:To obtain a general communication controller which can transmit documents or the like generated in the host side to a facsimile equipment, by providing a function which is interposed between the host and a printer to transmit information from the host side to the facsimile equipment. CONSTITUTION:A documentation editing device (word processor) 11 as the host and a printer 12 as the printer are provided, and a communication controller 13 which has the function to transmit information to the facsimile is connected to the documentation editing device 11 through centronix interface connectors 14 and 15 and a cable 16, and the printer 12 is connected to this communication controller 13 through centronix interface connectors 17 and 18 and a cable 19, and further, the communication controller 13 is connected to a line 20. When the communication controller 13 is not used, the documentation editing device 11 and the printer 12 are connected directly through connectors 14 and 15 and the cable 16. Thus, the communication controller 13 can be connected and disconnected between the documentation editing device 11 and the printer 12.
