PURPOSE:To cool block cores efficiently and increase capacity by a method wherein an insulating cylinder is provided around a main leg with a gap between and outer oil stoppers and inner oil stoppers are provided alternately along the piling direction of the block cores between the insulating cylinder and the block cores and in the holes at the center of the block cores respectively. CONSTITUTION:A block core 1a is composed of a silicon steel plate with a hole at the center. A main leg 1 is composed of a plurality of the block cores 1a piled up with gaps 4 between. An upper yoke core 2 and a lower yoke core 3, composed of laminated steel plates, are provided on and under the main leg 1 to constitute a gapped core. An insulating cylinder 6 is provided outside the main leg 1 with a gap between. Ouer oil stoppers 8 and inner oil stoppers 9 are provided alternately along the piling direction of the block cores in the oil passage between the insulating cylinder 6 and the block cores 1a and in the center holes 5 of the block cores 1a respectively. By providing the inner and outer oil stoppers, oil flows 10 are let to flow in zigzag routes through the outer oil passage 7, gaps 4 and the center holes 5 so that the block cores 1a are cooled effectively by radiation not only inward A and outward B but also to the axial direction C.
