PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head which keeps an excellent contact with a recording medium by providing a slot that determines the width and the position of each gap while being bridged over a slider and the vicinity of at least one of read/write gap and an erasure gap. CONSTITUTION:After a read R/write W core 17 and an erasure ERS core 18 are fixed incorporatedly via a nonmagnetic body 19, sliders 20, 21 are fixed from the side ad the gap position and gap regulating slots S1, S2 are formed by grinding processing so as to form a prescribed position and gap for the gaps 17a, 18a. That is, the gap position the position of the slots S1, S2 and its angle are obtained by calculation, the relative position between the side ridge of the sliders 20, 21 being the reference face and the R/W gap 17a and the relative position between the gap 17a and the ERS gap 18a are set, then the bonding of the cores 17, 18 may be rough more or less.
