PURPOSE:To improve the degree of freedom by constructing an input/ output circuit in a CMOS integrated circuit of a master slice system or an integrated circuit of a standard cell system by using a plurality of gate basic cells arranged in a peripheral region. CONSTITUTION:An input/output circuit disposed in a peripheral circuit region 5 of a chip is constructed by using gate basic cells composed of P-channel type transistors and N-channel type transistors and employed in an internal region and gate trains 6 composed of gate basic cells having the same structure as the above, by providing pads 7 separately, and by disposing the gate basic cells so that they are laid closely to each other. Such a construction makes it possible to meet the need of high driving capability for an output buffer. Besides, it enables also the attainment of a high speed of an input buffer and the free construction of the input buffer for a large. |
