In a winder for cable products delivered in a rotating manner from a cabling machine, having a winding hoop, designed as a drum and bearing deflection rollers for the cable products supplied, and having a winding core driven in rotation and arranged concentrically within the winding hoop, the winding hoop is mounted so as to be freely rotatable and a brake is provided, which brakes the rotation of the winding hoop. The winding hoop is designed as a double-walled drum, the deflection rollers being arranged in the cavity between the drum walls. An outlet roller of the deflection rollers is linked to the winding hoop so as to oscillate freely about an oscillation axis directed transversely to the roller axis.
