To improve a control device for compressed-air engines, in particular for hoisting equipment of explosion-protected design, comprising a housing of metal with a compressed-air intake nozzle and two compressed-air discharge nozzles, which can be alternately connected to the compressed-air intake nozzles by means of a sliding spool which can be adjusted by a handle and against the force of a spring, in such a way that it is possible to achieve for the device housing a simpler configuration, which also produces cheaper production possibilities for the overall control device, there is inserted into the housing (1) in a sealing and closing manner an insert (2) which is produced by moulding from plastic and on which all the functionally required compressed-air ports (15, 16, 17) and mountings for the sliding spool (6) and its adjusting elements are moulded-on with the desired dimensions. <IMAGE>
