1. Hammer operated by a pressure medium, comprising a percussion piston (3), which is disposed in a mobile manner in a cylindrical bore (2) in a housing (1), a longitudinal guide (9), which is arranged coaxially with the bore (2), for the shank (7) of a tool (8), and an anvil (4), which can be moved between the longitudinal guide (9) and the percussion piston (3) coaxially with the bore (2), characterised in that the diameter of the anvil (4) is the same as or slightly smaller than that of the percussion piston (3), and that when the anvil (4) is in the normal position an opening (13), which communicates with a control line (5), for the pressure medium leads into the bore (2) adjacent to the end face (14) of the anvil which faces the percussion piston (3). |
