PURPOSE:To facilitate grasping of document contents by extracting the prescribed word in sentence data, registering it in a table, recognizing the prescribed word lying out of the sentence data and associating at least the registered word with page information including the word. CONSTITUTION:The prescribed word in the sentence data is extracted and registered in the table. Simultaneously the prescribed word lying out of the sentence data is recognized, and at least the page information including the word is associated with the registered word. Namely, the prescribed word is extracted out of the sentence data 95, and recognized to correspond to any graphic data 96, whereby a graphic can be easily referred. A mnemonic dictionary memory 93 stores plural mnemonics (words) to extract the prescribed word in the sentence data 95. They are words to indicate a table, graph, drawing, picture, flowchart and so on in the sentence data 95, normally appear uniquely and can be always extracted.
