PURPOSE:To obtain a simple program which easily manages document information and generates, maintains, or uses document information, by adopting the management system where one-page components of character information and graphic information are synthetically defined on the same medium. CONSTITUTION:Character information and graphic information are developed in areas having the same size as an output medium and are synthesized on the output medium. An optional page in information on an auxiliary storage device has only two kinds of information, namely, character information and graphic information. when the page is developed on the output medium, a character output buffer having the same size as the output medium is prepared and character information is developed in this character output buffer, and next, a graphic output buffer having the same size as the output medium is prepared and graphic information is developed in this graphic output buffer, and they are synthesized on the output medium to obtain an objective image.
