Device for the thermal decomposition of used galvanic cells, particularly mercury-containing primary cells, comprising a rotary retort (9) rotatably mounted and heatable from the outside, a conveyor (13) for feeding the galvanic cells, and an axial tube (18) as gas exit opening to which a suction blower is connected, characterized in that the rotary retort (9) is designed pressure resistant, the feeding port (12) being at least partially closable, that the conveyor is designed as screw conveyor (13) having a reversible drive means, that the rotary retort (9) has a smaller diameter in the vicinity of the feeding port (12), and that the screw conveyor (13) is rigidly connected with the inner shell of the rotary retort and extends into the zone of greater inner diameter of the rotary retort. |
